How a claim reaches publication
Match the source to the exact model and revision. Preserve units, qualifications and uncertainty terms. Distinguish a permitted medium from a refrigerant P–T table, and document each connection end. Check current UK official guidance for territorial applicability. Link the underlying page and state when it was checked. An accessible source may still be incomplete or promotional.
Sources and review status
Each technical reference links the documentation or external case supporting its claims. Manufacturer specifications describe declared capability; retailer documentation helps identify parts and software requirements; technician articles provide attributed explanations and observations. Current official guidance establishes the relevant UK regulatory context.
Our instrument profiles are documentation reviews. We have not physically tested the featured instruments or obtained external professional review of these guides. Source checks do not verify a particular instrument’s calibration or an assembled connection’s performance.
UK interpretation
Great Britain: check the current GOV.UK qualification and leak-check guidance for the activity and equipment. Northern Ireland: check DAERA’s separate F-gas guidance; do not assume the GB regime applies. Instrument ownership or an App report is not evidence of competence or legal compliance. These explanations do not provide charging, pressure-testing or flammable-refrigerant work instructions.
What a documented test needs
A test report needs the sample identity, serial number and revision, reference instrument and uncertainty, setup, environment, raw readings and repeat observations. Software results also need exact OS, App and firmware versions. Live-system work requires the appropriate competence for the equipment and activity. Any professional review must identify the reviewer and the scope of their review.
Updating and corrections
Page dates identify editorial updates, while source-check dates identify when the cited documentation was consulted. Conflicting specifications remain labelled as unresolved until further evidence is available.
